There are basically three nice Fall days in September and October in northern MN. I wish I could say I take advantage of them and spend every waking minute outside but that would be a bold~face lie. I never go outside. I am not an outdoor kinda gal. Never have been….never will be.
With that said, let me tell you what has been going on inside the walls of THE LUMBERJACK AND THE GYPSY.
I rearranged the shop again. My back room is now the WOODSY~WESTERN~CABIN spot. I like having a dedicated spot for all that kind of stuff….tho, I must admit there are still traces of it around the whole shop…..I really do need a bigger spot.
This summer was really slow as far as customers coming in. My signage continues to be a problem for me. I just have no good spot for a sign that you can see BEFORE you pass me by if you are heading south on Carlton Hwy 61. I have made a sandwich board sign for the corner of Hwy 210 and Hwy 61 but it either gets blown over or driven over!!!!
I was given two tall metal frames that poke into the ground and my husband will be making them into something I can use until the ground freezes (unless there is some ordinance that says you can’t have tall signs up on that corner….which will be just my luck!). But come winter and snowplows and snow piles, I will be SOOL as I will not be able to put any signage on the corner.
In front of the turn to come into the shop, I have a taller sandwich board with metallic plastic flags around it but people still pass me by…..I need to get my mom out there with a sign like those other companies who have employees on street corners bouncing the signs up and down to garner attention!!! For those of you who know my mom, could you not see her doing that? I wonder how much I would have to pay her as it might just work for me!!!! Go Ruby….Go Ruby…..
